How does Order Sync Works?

Please note that the orders are still in beta. Feel free to reach out to us if there is any problem.

The eBay Integration and Sync app have a powerful feature called Order Sync. The feature aims to seamlessly synchronize orders from eBay to your Shopify store.

To begin using Order Sync, ensure that you have enabled the setting on the Order & Inventory settings page. If you had previously disabled it, you may be directed to the settings page upon clicking on the enable button.

Important Note:

Orders from eBay are fetched to the app from the date you have enabled order sync and installed the app.

Order & Inventory Configurations

When configuring Order Settings, you have three options. You can enable Order and Inventory sync, which synchronizes inventory of all SKU products in both marketplaces and syncs orders from eBay to Shopify. You can also enable Inventory Sync only, or disable both Order and Inventory settings. In addition, you can set a prefix while syncing orders from eBay to your Shopify store. This prefix will be appended to the title of the Shopify order, making it easier for you to distinguish between orders from eBay and those from Shopify

What's on the Order Page?

Once you access the orders page, you will find a list of all the orders. You can easily filter the orders based on the search of the Order ID. The page contains various columns that provide information about each order. Here are some terms used on the orders page explained in simple terms:

  1. Order ID: This is a unique identification number assigned to your eBay order.
  2. Order Sync: It indicates whether the eBay order has been synchronized or not. If it's already synced, it will show "Synced." If the synchronization process is ongoing, it will display "Syncing." If there is an issue during synchronization, it will show "Failed."
  3. Order Date: This is the date when the order was created.
  4. Payment Status: This shows whether the payment for the order has been received or not. If it's marked as incomplete, the buyer has not paid for the order yet. If it's marked as complete, the buyer has paid for the order.
  5. Customer: This refers to the name of the customer or buyer who placed the order.
  6. Fulfillment Status: This status indicates whether the order has been fulfilled (completed) or not.
  7. Total: This shows the total amount that needs to be paid for the order.

Details of the Order

You can easily view the order details of your eBay order. Just press the down order near the order ID.

You can see all the order line transactions for the following order. It will contain information about the charges for the order and the customer details.

Important Note:

We will automatically link the order line item to the Shopify product based on the SKU match. If there are multiple Shopify products with the same SKU then will link them on the first search basis. If we cannot find the following SKU in any of the Shopify products then order sync fails and an option is displayed to manually link them. Once the SKU is linked then the subsequent order with the same SKU will be automatically linked.

What happens if order sync fails?

If you see that any of the order syncs failed, then view the details of the order. The main reason for the failed status is normally if the following SKU is not found on the Shopify product. If this happens then you will see a button on the order line item to manually link the item.

Once you click the "Link product" button a modal is displayed with all the Shopify variants.

You can search with the title of the Shopify product or you can type the SKU if you know of any. Once the variant is selected and the "Link Now" is clicked then your SKU will be linked and the syncing process will occur again. Once completed you will see the Synced order sync status.

How is an order on Shopify created?

When the order is synced successfully to your Shopify store you will see the Synced status. Now you can go to the orders section of your Shopify store and view the order.

Pro tip: If you have enabled the setting to add prefix in your Shopify order then you can easily filter them based on the keyword used.

Here's how your order in Shopify will look like

If you fulfill the order from your Shopify then it will automatically be fulfilled to your eBay order.
